The Autism
Chapter Eastern Shore, invites Project Santa for a Holiday Celebration! 28
Children participated in Project Santa's "Gifts for the Gifted" program. At
this event Santa made his delivery to some very special children and their
siblings. The event was held at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Maryland. One
of the main goals was to see the children's reactions to Santa, as in the
past people in "character costume's" have been known to frighten children
with autism. Santa methodically made his way through the crowded room as
tears of joy were spread. Santa received some very unexpected handshakes and
hugs as the parents stood in total disbelief.
Every child
in the room received personal gifts from Santa. Coordinators from ACES,
Jennifer Horton and Crystal Holman worked extensively to
ensure not only did each child receive gifts but received what was on each
Childs "wish list". Many calls were made to parents who attended and Santa
kept his promise!
On behalf
of Project Santa we honor the work of these two women for taking a proactive
role in helping families on the Eastern Shore! Jennifer and Crystal, thank
you for allowing us to support your efforts!
