PROJECT SANTA

Alan Fogleman, founder, began Project Santa in 2004.  Having a child with autism, he realized a personal need to make Christmas a special occasion. Using his own money, he purchased a Santa Suit and began a journey that he never thought would be so well received. Again, with his own money he purchased $500.00 in gifts to meet gender and other qualifications. Alan and his bride to be, Linda, began wrapping and making preparations for the big day. They each worked on making scrolls with each child's name on the receiving list. The big day arrives and Santa made his way into the classroom in which his son Alan Keith attended. The smiles and cheers overwhelmed all in attendance. As Santa sat and personally handed out gifts to 7 very special children, the "Gifts For The Gifted" project was born.

In 2005 Alan realized that the impact he made the previous year was larger than he himself could handle. He made a personal promise to himself that he would return and make this year much more memorable. Outreaching to the community and asking humbly for donations to fund the project, he again was astounded by the generosity and support. That did not account for the un-wrapped toy donations. Again, Alan and Linda made preparations. A hand made scroll with each Childs name and this year a sponsors scroll was added giving thanks to those who donated so graciously. Santa made his way again into the classroom at the school Alan Keith attends, but this year not 7 but 13 special children where present! Laughing and giggling, each child received gifts from Santa as each Childs name was called.

So far this year as of this writing, November 24, 2006, we have again doubled monetary donations from last year! We intend on reaching more Children thru "Gifts for the Gifted" and adding outreach programs by partnering with other Autism based organizations.
